Let's be honest, we have been quiet on social media lately - but it's because we have been busy with so many exciting projects that are all coming together very soon! We can't share too much about our 2018 Artisan Home Tour project just yet, but we can give you a few sneak peeks.
We are absolutely in love with this beautiful Dutch Colonial home project on Lake Minnetonka. We are honored to be working with Michael Paul Design + Build and a wonderful family who is excited to move into their lake home just before summer. The clients wanted a relaxed coastal feel with classic timeless interiors and a fresh, happy color pallet for their active lifestyle.
The home is located on Stubbs Bay on Lake Minnetonka - 780 Tonkawa Road, Orono, MN. It is House #6 on the tour.
The color pallet features a lot of crisp white - both inside and out. But, don't let that that fool you. There will be fresh coastal blues and pops of color throughout the house. The front door and some special interior doors feature a custom blend blue that sets the stage for the fabrics and accents in the home.
To keep the backdrop fresh and crisp, the clients wanted shiplap throughout much of the home. This frames the walls and walls of windows looking out at the lake. It also gives us the opportunity to add bold color with fabrics in a few key places throughout the home.
The client wanted a casual, relaxed look that is both inviting and family friendly. The house features wide planked bleached white oak flooring, barn wood ceilings and aged stone fireplaces. The finishes feel worn and lived in, so they can enjoy truly "living in" their home and not worrying about dings and scratches. The more character, the better!
To make sure the furniture is as carefree as the home's finishes, we selected Crypton fabrics and worn wood surfaces.
Of course, lighting is the best part of any home. We chose several nautical lights which fit in beautifully with the lake views.
As we reach the final stretch, there will be so many exciting things to go in - lighting, commercial grade appliances, furniture and accents. Follow along as we get closer to the tour!
Thanks again to Michael Paul Design + Build, and the best clients ever! It was been a fun, collaborative design process and we are so excited to see it complete.
And, don't forget to stop in to see the home with ALL of the details! The Artisan Home Tour starts June 8, 2018, and runs for three weekends.
See you there!
xoxo,
kristi
